Hypalon: From France brand ORCA®
Hypalon ORCA has excellent weather resistance, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance. It can withstand temperature fluctuations, ultraviolet rays, seawater, etc. It still maintains flexibility and elasticity at low temperatures, has a long service life and low maintenance cost. It is suitable for various fields such as shipbuilding and ship repair.
PVC: From Germany brand Heytex®
It features a unique modified PVDF coating. It has good self - cleaning performance, with the coating firmly bonded and not easy to peel off. It can be directly welded. Moreover, through innovative technology, the color difference problem has been solved. It also has many advantages such as double - sided self - cleaning, antibacterial and anti - mildew properties, and strong weather resistance.
Mer Vista use two processes to manufacture the fiberglass bottom shell: hand lay-up and vacuum adsorption.
hand lay-up
This is a traditional manufacturing process for fiberglass (fiber - reinforced plastic). The process usually involves manually laying reinforcing materials such as fiberglass cloth layer by layer on the mold. At the same time, resins (such as polyester resin, epoxy resin, etc.) are applied to impregnate the fibers and cure them into shape. Although the efficiency is low, it will increase the strength and rigidity of the bottom shell.
Vacuum adsorption
The principle of this process is to utilize the pressure difference generated by vacuum to closely attach materials (such as resin - impregnated fiber layers) to the surface of the mold, expel air bubbles, and compact the materials. After curing, the desired product is formed. In the production of fiberglass bottom shells, the vacuum adsorption process can ensure the full infiltration of materials through uniform pressure, reduce internal defects, and thus improve the density, structural stability, and consistency of the products.
